Free introductory hour. I am a third year student at the University of Miami offering SAT tutoring at affordable rates in the Coral Gables area. With academic obligations minimized over these next couple months, it’s a perfect time for students to familiarize themselves with one of the most important exams they will be taking in secondary school. It wasn’t so long ago that I was experiencing all of the stresses associated with the end of one’s high school career, so I understand that the fear of performing poorly on these standardized exams can be nerve-racking. However, having gone through this struggle, I also understand that these exams are easily conquerable with practice and dedication. Why make me your tutor? 1) I am affordable. SAT tutors are commonly seen requesting 50/hr and up for their services. Prep courses from Kaplan, Huntington, ect. can cost thousands. If a student is undisciplined and needs his or her hand held for the SAT preparation process, these courses might be necessary, but as someone who performed phenomenally on her exams with nothing but Google and the SAT Official Study Guide at her disposal, I don’t think them necessary. Save your money. I’m not a corporation, I’m a college student looking for extra cash to go to Brickell on the weekends and purchase my textbooks, so I’ll always be financially fair. 2) As helpful as tutoring is, an hour or two of supervised SAT work a week isn’t going to help a student break 2000 if that is all that is being done. I supply students with material to work on in between tutoring sessions to ensure that they are consistently engaged with SAT material, specifically topics that they have the most issue with. 3) I understand that it is important for students and parents to have confidence that their tutoring sessions are sufficiently contributing to academic growth. I utilize periodic testing and progress growth charts so that students have an easier time ‘visualizing’ their gradual accomplishment. 4) Free introductory lessons. I understand that my style of teaching may not be for everyone. I personally detested having to pay tutors at the end of a session when I know that I gained nothing from my time with them, so your initial session is free of charge. Prefer to meet on the University of Miami campus. 25/hr. 35/ 2 hr.
